Man Beaten up by Momo Vendor in Delhi for Asking for Extra 'Chutney'

NEW DELHI:  A 24-year-old man in Delhi is in Intensive Care Unit of a hospital after he was beaten up by a roadside momos vendor, allegedly after asking for extra 'chutney.'

The incident took place in Trilokpuri in East Delhi last night.

The accused, a 40-year-old man named Kamal, has been booked under Section 308 (attempt to commit culpable homicide) of the Indian Penal Code and has been arrested.
The victim, Sunny, claims Kamal attacked him with a rod when he had asked for more chutney.

Kamal, however, claims that when Sunny was told there was no more chutney, he started abusing Kamal. Soon, after a heated argument, a fistfight began.

Kamal says Sunny then dialed a few numbers and allegedly called his friends to thrash the momos vendor.

"When Kamal's wife Nemwati and teenager son Akash tried to intervene, they were also allegedly beaten up by the youths... During the fight, Kamal allegedly hit Sunny with a rod and he collapsed," said a police official, quoting Kamal's complaint.

A cross FIR has been filed by Kamal, based on which police have booked Sunny and his friends under Sections 323 (causing hurt) and 341 (wrongful restraint) of the Indian Penal      Code.
